From plus sized postural support chairs to heavy duty changing benches with larger weight and height requirements, the Plus Range offers a selection of solutions to meet the unique needs of plus sized individuals in both school and home environments.
Individuals with larger body sizes (in height and/or weight) require specialised care and suitable equipment, posing challenges for occupational therapists, care facilities and providers. Limited resources affect timely care delivery, schooling and care home admissions, and hospital discharges.
Each chair should be tailored to the individual user, providing proper posture support and ensuring even weight distribution on the support surface for comfort and independence. Seating should be based on the individual’s body shape and size determined during assessment to prevent potential harm. Correct chair setup influences positioning, affecting the risk of secondary issues like postural deterioration and pressure injuries.
