Head, Trunk, Pelvis & Leg Features
Head Positioning
An optimal head position is crucial for users across various domains, including comfort, feeding, personal interactions, social engagement, communication, respiratory function, and overall postural health.
Multi-grip Headrest
The multi-grip headrest provides versatile head and neck positioning, ensuring adaptability as the user’s presentation evolves.
Trunk Positioning
For individuals with moderate to complex postural needs, a supported thoracic area can help prevent spinal curvature and internal health issues, such as respiratory and digestive complications. Achieving equal weight distribution across the chair minimizes pressure care needs and enhances user comfort.
Lateral Positioning
The comfortable, multi-adjustable lateral supports maintain the user in a symmetrical position, which is essential for postural alignment. The supports can be flipped open to facilitate easier transfers in and out of the chair.
Chest Harness
The neoprene chest harness offers comfortable support for the thoracic region, preventing the trunk from moving forward in the chair.
Contoured Backrest
The backrest’s shape and design provide subtle support by making contact with a large surface area of the user’s back.
Dynamic Backrest
A dynamic backrest is beneficial for users with fluctuating muscle tone and dystonic movements, as it helps maintain a healthy position that a fixed backrest cannot accommodate.
Pelvic and Lower Limb Positioning
Proper pelvic alignment is essential for overall postural positioning; misalignment can adversely affect the trunk and head. Given that the pelvis is subject to movement from obliquity, rotation, and tilt, securing it in a neutral position is vital. Correct leg positioning supports this alignment, as the legs can shift out of neutral due to muscle tone or poor posture, leading to adduction, abduction, or rotation. Adequate support for the lower limbs is necessary to prevent pelvic misalignment.
4-Point Pelvic Belt
The unique design of the 4-point pelvic belt incorporates support pads positioned around the pelvis, eliminating gaps that may occur with belts that encircle the chair’s edge. This close fit enhances pelvic stability.
Hip pads
Hip pads provide stabilization at the outer hips, preventing lateral movement and ensuring a secure and stable pelvic position.
Sacral Pad
The sacral pad assists in pelvic tilt management, helping to prevent excessive posterior tilt and correct pelvic rotation.
Adduction and Abduction Pads
These pads promote leg alignment, supporting healthy lower limb positioning while reducing excessive internal and external rotation.
Leg Stem and Foot Plates
The highly adjustable leg stem and footplates accommodate users with complex leg positioning. The footplates support both plantar and dorsiflexion, ensuring that the user’s feet are well-supported with even weight distribution across the soles.
