Chris brings a wealth of sales experience and fresh perspectives to Smirthwaite USA; and leads the company’s sales team. For over 22 years, Chris has been serving his customers and his colleagues in the medical industry. Starting his career New York City, working with hospitals to provide top-quality infusion care products, Chris has served patients and caregivers throughout the United States as a sales representative and sales leader in the fields of infusion therapy, toxicology, and dentistry prior to coming on board with Smirthwaite.
What does your role entail?
As National Sales Manager I play a number of roles in guiding the customer service support for existing customers, while also endeavoring to grow our exposure throughout the USA to lead to increased sales of our products. This entails phone and email contact with existing clients to answer their questions and meet their current and future needs. It also encompasses attending trade shows, working with school systems and physical therapy clinics, and supporting the sales efforts of our national manufacturer sales reps throughout the USA.
What is the best thing about your job?
Helping the children and their families to have a better quality of life is the absolute best thing about my job! Seeing the smiles on families and their children as they grow, and hearing of their successes from teachers and clinicians gives me a tremendous sense of pride in what I do.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
When I started my career, my father-in-law, a former Director of Pharmacy in a Hospital, told me two things to remember as I started my first job in medical sales. Always be the person that shows up when needed, answer the phone when your customers call, and treat everyone with the same respect, from the CEO to the person that cleans the hospital. It was great advice that I still live by to this day.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
For over 20 years I have been an avid runner and exercise enthusiast. That gives me a ton of relaxation and pleasure. I also enjoy time with my wife and daughters, going on hikes and exploring new entertainment venues and restaurants in our cities where we live. Finally, I started actively training and competing in archery with a compound bow.
What’s your favorite travel destination?
My favorite destination is a tie for first place between the beach and the mountains! Living in North Carolina, we are lucky to be able to vacation in different parts of the state that offer us both settings in only a few hours’ drive from my home. Every year our family makes sure to vacation in both locations and enjoy all the splendor and beauty each has to offer
